Possible consequences of climate change in the region

8 August 2018

According to the different scenarios of climate change for the countries of Central Asia, temperature increase by 1-3 °C is expected by 2030-2050. The consequences of such changes will be reflected in the scarcity of water resources, increasing the frequency and scale of natural disasters. However, to date, there is a low level of awareness about the effects of climate change.

The specialist of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia spoke about the consequences of climate change in Central Asia and what measures are being taken at the regional level.

The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia implements the Program for Adaptation to Climate Change and Mitigation in the Aral Sea Basin "CAMP4ASB", which was launched in 2016 with the support of the World Bank and aims to solve common challenges through access to advanced knowledge in this field.
